NORTH KOREA'S KIM CELEBRATES TEST OF "PERFECT WEAPON SYSTEM"...

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un celebrated a test of the “perfect weapon system” ­after his engineers launched what they said was a new kind of intermediate-range ballistic missile system capable of carrying “a large-size heavy nuclear warhead.” The missile, launched Sunday morning, appeared to show substantial progress toward developing an intercontinental ballistic missile that can reach the mainland United States, U.S. rocket scientists said.

Thursday night's Islamist terror attack in Champs Elysees (Paris) raised questions over how yet another Islamist extremist known to police was able to bring terror to the heart of the French capital. Marine Le Pen - French presidential election candidate for the Far-Right Front National (FN) Party - called for France to IMMEDIATELY take back control of its own borders from the European Union and DEPORT ALL FOREIGNERS ON A TERROR WATCHLIST. "This war against us is ceaseless and merciless," she said, blasting the "monstrous totalitarian ideology" behind Thursday night's terror attack.

AFGHANISTAN - US HIT ISLAMIC STATE WITH LARGEST NON-NUCLEAR BOMB EVER USED

The Pentagon said U.S. Forces in Afghanistan dropped a GBU-43B on an ISIS target in Afghanistan on the April 13, 2017 in the first-ever combat use of the bomb. U.S. Forces struck an Islamic State tunnel complex in Eastern Afghanistan, close to the Pakistani border.

SWEDEN HAS BEEN ATTACKED : TRUCK CRASHES INTO STOCKHOLM STORE, KILLING 4

STOCKHOLM — Sweden’s capital became just the latest major European city to transform into a scene of vehicle-borne carnage Friday as a stolen beer truck slammed into a crowd of pedestrians outside an upscale shopping center, killing four in an assault that the prime minister denounced as a terrorist attack. Police said the driver apparently escaped the smoky and blood-streaked scene. Throughout the afternoon and evening, he was the subject of an intensive manhunt as helicopters searched from the skies, heavily armed officers were deployed through normally tranquil neighborhoods and security at borders was tightened. For hours, the city’s transit system was shut down and streets in the central district were sealed off. Suspect is 39-year-old from Uzbekistan who posted jihadist propaganda.

RUSSIA - BOMB IN ST PETERSBURG SUBWAY KILLING 14

A blast that ripped through a train as it traveled between two central subway stations in Russia's second-largest city on Monday killed at least 11 people and injured at least 30. Authorities launched a terrorism investigation that centered on a single bomber who left an explosive device at one central station before boarding a train and detoning a second device.
UPDATE 5 April - 14 dead, 60 injured. The bomber was a 22-year-old from the Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan, an ethnic Uzbek and naturalized Russian citizen. He was a member of the Uzbek minority from the city of Osh, which has been the scene of bloody ethnic conflicts and the growth of Islamist militant movements since the Soviet Union began disintegrating three decades ago.

WESTMINSTER BRIDGE - TERROR ATTACK IN HEART OF LONDON

At least five people were killed, including the attacker and a police officer, and 40 were wounded in an attack in London on Wednesday, the head of London's Metropolitan Police counterterrorism unit said. The driver of a large vehicle mowed down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge, which leads to Parliament around 2.40 pm. After the crash, he left the vehicle and approached Parliament, where he fatally stabbed a police officer. The police then fatally shot him. Parliament was locked down.
