INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TIMES AUSTRALIA 24 DEC - YOUNG SYDNEY MAN EDITS ISIS VIDEOS

A young man from Sydney dropped out as an electrical engineering student, travelled to Syria and had since been working as a video editor for ISIS. He had edited beheading videos and personally wished to be killed through an airstrike so he can become a martyr. The young man is reportedly the first confirmed Australian to be working with ISIS' media unit. "I have a job, I live in a HQ, eat, sleep, work, hope an airstrike gets me so I can be Shaheed. Pretty typical life," the man told The Australian in a strictly confidential online interview. Back in Australia, editing videos was purely a hobby. His skill was honed by editing cheap little film effects. He said his first intention of travelling to Syria was to fight alongside the ISIS, but ISIS officials wanted people with experience in media production so he volunteered for the job. He revealed that the group is using dodgy internet connection to communicate with the outside world while a more stable internet service is used to distribute the videos and images. The young man also revealed that infiltrators are being dealt with what he described as pleasing punishment - beheading. "I saw one get his head chopped off the other day. Pretty satisfying. This guy was giving IS positions to regime. Then his head gets exhibited as a warning to other spies," the man revealed to The Australian. He also revealed that he met other Australian Islamic State fighters. The fact that there are other Aussie fighting with ISIS, "was quite good," the man said. More and more young Australians are being lured into the ISIS ideology. On Dec 24, the Sydney police arrested two young men for allegedly planning a terrorist attack in Australia. The two are also allegedly helping Australians to travel to Syria. One of the men, identified as Sulayman Khalid, 20, from Regent's Park, was charged with possession of documents designed to facilitate a terrorist attack. The other men who has yet to be identified in public was charged with breaching a control order. The two young men were nabbed as part of the on-going counter-terrorism operation being conducted by the Australian Federal Police in cooperation the Joint Counter Terrorism team and the New South Wales Police. There was no evidence proving that a terror attack plan was already hatched and is about to be carried out, AFP Deputy Commissioner national Security Michael Phelan said as reported by ABC. TARANAKI DAILY NEWS 16 DEC - GROWTH OF RWR IN TARANAKI

A right-wing white supremacist group says its membership in Taranaki is growing. The Right Wing Resistance (RWR) group is distributing fliers around New Plymouth calling from immigration from Ebola-infected countries to stop. The group's website claims new units were being set up in New Plymouth and Stratford, and a "Viking Division" was also being established in the region. In August last year the group distributed racist fliers attacking Chinese immigration, trade and business. Mayor Andrew Judd said he was not aware the group was recruiting in the district. "That's news to me and I'm quite shocked to hear that," Judd said yesterday. "There's a big difference between free speech and hate speech." Judd said the group would not be welcomed in the district and would not be helpful whatsoever. "I would just ask people to act within the law and within common decency," he said. A spokesman for RWR, Vaughan Tocker, of Masterton, told the Taranaki Daily News he visited the region about three weeks ago to swear in new members. He said there were about a dozen members of the RWR in Taranaki, a figure he expected to increase. "At the moment I'm very happy with what is happening in Taranaki," he said. "We are growing huge, we are growing fast," he claimed. Tocker said the public could expect to see the group actively protesting around the region, more flier drops and picketing. He said New Zealand ran the risk of being inundated with immigrants and urged all white people to make a stand. "Whether you think that they are going to be a problem in Taranaki, they are coming. We are all in danger, as soon as they out number us in our own country they are going to start voting in their own governments. "The whole purpose of the resistance is we must secure the existence of the European race and its future for our white children." Tocker said his message to ethnic immigrants was simple. "Go home. We don't want this country to become a Third World country which is over-populated and overrun by immigrants." THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD 18 DEC - THE GUNMAN GRANTED AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP DESPITE HIS CRIMINAL RECORD

Now for the cover-up. Australians are entitled to know, but are highly unlikely to be told, who were the lawyers and officials who advocated that Man Haron Monis be allowed to live in Australia, and then granted citizenship, despite red flag after red flag that he was trouble. Magistrates, lawyers and police prosecutors collectively decided that Monis, with a long history of harassing behaviour, with links to the brutal murder of his former wife, with charges for sexual assaults of multiple women, with a history of extreme political views, with convictions for writing threatening letters, and with an open record of support for jihad, was deemed no threat to society. Right at the start, in 1996, when Monis claimed political asylum, the Iranian authorities made it clear that he had been charged with multiple counts of theft that had nothing to do with either political persecution or capital crimes. The Iranian foreign ministry reiterated this week that his psychological instability and criminal charges were known to Australian officials when they granted him asylum status. Within months, Monis had chained himself to the front gate of state Parliament in Macquarie Street in a political protest. He was later given citizenship. Monis is a classic case study of why Australia needs to have probationary conditions applied to the residence status and then citizenship granted to immigrants, refugees and asylum-seekers. To cover for mistakes, this probationary status needs to be rigorous and lengthy. Australians take security seriously, starting with border integrity. The moral vanity of former prime minister Kevin Rudd, in giving a green light to people smugglers, was a key reason the public handed him a smashing defeat when he was voted out of power last year. The instability through the Muslim world is growing worse. Thousands of Muslims are killing thousands of Muslims, leaving millions of Muslims displaced. The murder of more than 100 school children in Pakistan on Tuesday is the latest numbing instalment of the butchery being carried out in the name of Islam in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Chad and Kenya. Egypt is under martial law. Iran is a theocracy. Numerous outbreaks of jihad-inspired violence have taken place in Western Europe, Russia, Canada, the United States and Australia. With instability growing in the Muslim world, the tacit policy of open borders, advocated by the Greens and the churches, would have seen the 50,000 people who bypassed Australian immigration under Labor grow exponentially. Noone in the Greens or the churches offers structures setting limits, not 100,000 undocumented arrivals, or 200,000, or 500,000. Only compassion without limits. This has been sensibly and emphatically rejected by the electorate. No limits were placed on Man Haron Monis. The District Court gave him a slap after he was convicted of writing dozens of harassing letters to the families of dead soldiers. He and his wife, Amirah Droudis, were provided with tens of thousands of dollars in legal aid as they pursued vexatious appeals all the way to the High Court. He was free on bail with multiple charges pending against him. Less than three months ago, Abdul Numan Haider, 18, was shot and killed after he stabbed and seriously wounded a police officer in Melbourne. His crime, like that of Monis, was explicitly in support of Islamic State. The headband worn by Monis when he took hostages bore the inscription, in Arabic: "We are ready to sacrifice for you, O Mohammad." He was responding to the call from Islamic State for Muslims to engage in individual acts of violence against non-believers. This call has not succeeded because the overwhelming majority of Muslims reject the rantings of Islamic State and are appalled by the actions taken in the name of Islam by people like Monis. Australians understand this. But everyone also knows that thousands of Muslims have travelled to Syria and Iraq to join the barbarous IS. A dissident former army major, Bernie Gaynor Jnr, says that more Australian Muslims have gone to fight with IS than have enlisted in the Australian Army this year. His claim has not been disputed by the Army. LINK: http://www.smh.com.au/comment/monis-proves-we-need-to-sort-out-our-immigration-mistakes-20141217-1297f1.html

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS IS BAD, DIVERSITY OF IDEAS IS GOOD

PART OF LIFE in a free society is accepting that others have different opinions and ideas, even ones that are not nice or happy or positive. Everyone having the same opinions and ideas would be very strange, but that's just what political correctness and fake niceness try to achieve. Additionally, if everyone thinks the same, or expresses the same fake politically correct opinions, there's a lack of diverse ideas. In such an environment, creativity is unlikely. What is needed is an unconventional culture that fosters honest communication and diversity of ideas. WAKE UP NEW ZEALAND!

WW1 GODWIN VON BRUMOWSKI'S PLANE. THE FEARLESS BARBARIAN

Godwin von Brumowski (26 July 1889 – 3 June 1936) was the most successful fighter ace of the Austro-Hungarian Air Force during World War I. He was officially credited with 35 air victories, (including 12 shared with other pilots) with 8 others unconfirmed because they fell behind Allied lines. Just before the war ended, Brumowski rose to command of all his country’s fighter aviation fighting Italy on the Isonzo front.

MELBOURNE THE AGE 8 DECEMBER - VICTORIANS BELIEVE SOME ETHNIC GROUPS DO NOT 'FIT IN'

An increasing number of Victorians believe there are ethnic or racial groups in Australia who do not "fit in", despite most saying they are in favour of cultural diversity. People who express prejudiced attitudes are most likely to feel negative towards Muslims (22 per cent), people from the Middle East (14 per cent), Africans (11 per cent) and refugees (11 per cent). New VicHealth research into Victorian attitudes to race and cultural diversity has found that while most of the 1250 people surveyed said they often had positive contact with people from other groups, race-based intolerance remained common. About two in every five people said there were groups in Australia that did not "fit in". The proportion of people with this view has increased almost 20 per cent over the past seven years. Researcher Yin Paradies, from Deakin University, said events like the global financial crisis, a fear of terrorism and debates over asylum seekers could influence people's attitudes significantly. Many people put Muslims and people from the Middle East into one category, not realising that each group was extremely diverse, Professor Paradies said. "We're not a particularly racist state in the scheme of Australian society. When we have national surveys, we find people a bit more tolerant than other areas," he said. Joseph Youhana, who came to Australia as an Iraqi Christian refugee, said his experience had been overwhelmingly positive but he had the advantage of a good grasp of English. "People need a clear pathway when they come here; they get lost. You need someone to hold your hand and walk you through," he said. Many of the results from the survey were positive: 80 per cent of people said Aborigines held a special place as the first Australians and almost all said it was important to treat people from racial and ethnic minorities fairly. But about three in every 10 people disagreed that being Aborigine made it harder to succeed, and two in every five people believed Aborigines got more government money than they should. VicHealth chief executive officer Jerril Rechter said racism could be a health risk. It has strong links to conditions like depression and anxiety and can lead to drug and alcohol abuse. http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/victorians-embrace-diversity-but-believe-some-ethnic-groups-do-not-fit-in-20141207-11zc2u.html

NEW ZEALAND HERALD 1 DECEMBER - HAWKE'S BAY MUSLIM FORMS OWN ISLAMIC STATE OF AOTEAROA

A Hawke's Bay Muslim man is calling on "souljahs of Allah" to make their way to Hastings and join him in forming the "Islamic State of Aotearoa". Te Amorangi Kireka-Whaanga, of Hastings, who heads the Aotearoa Maori Muslim Association, said in a Facebook post yesterday he had changed the organisation's name to the Islamic State of Aotearoa. Hastings Mayor Lawrence Yule said Mr Kireka-Whaanga's Facebook posts were "very concerning," considering the Islamic State's violent reputation in the Middle East. "I don't think any normal, law-abiding Kiwi would think there's any time or place for this kind of behaviour. When you have our own citizens setting up a terrorist-style cult within New Zealand, then the agencies on behalf of New Zealanders will do anything they can to stamp them out. I don't think there's any place in New Zealand for these Islamic cults." Mr Kireka-Whaanga has previously pledged his support for Islamic State on social media, saying it would bring down Western civilisation and true Muslims were behind Islamic State. In 2010, he was named as one of the world's 500 most influential Muslims, one of two New Zealanders to make the list, by a group in Jordan. Isis, or Islamic State, has been taking over cities in Syria and Iraq and conducting high-profile beheadings of hostages, as it tries to establish an Islamic caliphate in the region. Mr Kireka-Whaanga maintains he is "a peace advocate trying to achieve my goal of winning a Nobel peace prize". Yesterday on Facebook, where he has 936 friends, he called on "Muslim souljahs, warriors and followers of prophet Muhammad" to make their way to Hastings and "blow everyone away with the beauty and magic of love, truth, wisdom and divine blessings". "Out with the old and in with the new, let's radiate the power of truth the magic of it upon the starving souls of mankind." He also said "average normal kiwi New Zealanders" had approached him to take action against the Prime Minister, John Key. In response, a spokeswoman for the Prime Minister said he did not comment on individuals. A sign put up outside Mr Kireka-Whaanga's house warned media and government employees against setting foot on his property. His partner yesterday came to the edge of the property and told Hawke's Bay Today he was unavailable for comment. Hastings residents who live near Mr Kireka-Whaanga's house were unaware of his status as a Muslim leader when spoken to by Hawke's Bay Today . A neighbour said Mr Kireka-Whaanga and his family "keep to themselves". "They just don't mix. We wouldn't know they even lived there, basically." Another resident said: "He's obviously kept it under wraps on this street." A Muslim man who worships at the region's sole mosque, the Hawke's Bay Baitul Mokarram Masjid and Islamic Centre Trust, and did not wish to be named, said Mr Kireka-Whaanga's views did not reflect those of the wider Muslim community. Known as "Izhaq" to local Muslims, Mr Kireka-Whaanga did not worship at the mosque regularly and it was believed he had "gone mad". Police declined to comment about Mr Kireka-Whaanga yesterday. The Herald also interviewed Mr Kireka-Whaanga 10 years ago when he claimed to be regularly visiting prisons, as part of a project to convert inmates to Islam. He is understood to have been since banned from visiting prisons. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11366879

SANTA THE BARBARIAN!

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TIMES 4 DEC - AUSTRALIA DECLARES SYRIA'S RAQQA OFF LIMITS TO ITS CITIZENS

The Australian government on Thursday declared Syria’s Raqqa province -- the de facto capital of the Islamic State group’s self-proclaimed caliphate -- as a no-go zone for its citizens, making it a criminal offense to enter the region without a legitimate purpose. This is the first such declaration made by the government under a raft of new, stricter counterterrorism laws passed by Australia's parliament in October. “Declaring Al-Raqqa province under the Criminal Code sends a strong message to those Australians who seek to participate in the Syrian conflict,” Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said, in a statement released Thursday. She also urged Australian nationals currently residing in Raqqa province without a legitimate purpose to “leave immediately." “The ISIL terrorist organization is engaging in significant hostile activities in Al-Raqqa, including the murder of opponents, the rape and enslavement of women, and the intimidation and subjugation of the civilian population,” Bishop said, adding that she is considering including more areas where the Islamic state group is active to its no-go zone list. However, the new law has reportedly been criticized by several Australian politicians as “draconian” and “unnecessary.” “Anyone who travels to the Al-Raqqa province, even under the listed exemptions, will have a very real legal challenge of proving that they went there for one sole purpose,” Penny Wright, a senator from the Australian Greens party, said, according to The Australian. “It criminalizes perfectly legitimate travel and has the same effect as reversing the onus of proof.” The move is the latest in a series of measures implemented by the Australian government to curb the flow of foreign fighters, which reportedly includes nearly 70 Australian nationals, to conflict-ridden regions in Syria and Iraq. The country has also been on high alert following the release of videos by militants of the Islamic State group, urging Australian jihadists to attack locals. In September, law enforcement agencies had conducted the largest anti-terror raids in the country’s history and arrested 15 people suspected of plotting attacks in the nation's cities.
