STATE OF EMERGENCY IN FRANCE : BORDERS CLOSED
French President Francois Hollande has announced that his country’s borders have been closed and the military has been dispatched to the streets.
In an address to the nation, Hollande declared a state of emergency and said the army is being deployed in and around Paris. He called the attacks taking place in Paris after siege at Bataclan concert hall and across the town, which have so far left more than 150 dead a “horror.”
The state of emergency means French authorities can enter private homes and control the press, reported Fox News.
He added that French security forces are assaulting a site in Paris. This is the first time France has declared a state of emergency since the Algerian war, which took place between 1954 and 1962. It is also the first time a curfew has been imposed since the dark days of world war two in 1944.
